On November 8th, 2013  Philippines were struck by Typhoon Haiyan  also called Yolanda. It was the deadliest Philippine Typhoon on record, taking lives of approximately  8,000 people. Dead bodies are being found until  today. Yolanda caused catastrophic destruction in the Philippine region of Visayas, particularly on Samar and Leyte Islands. People lost  everything, family, homes, material possessions. Response and relief came from around the World, the private sector, civil society and international and local humanitarian organizations.Three months after disaster  I have visited Tacloban City in the island province of Leyte and Guiuan in Eastern Samar , which was the worst-hit. The battle with Yolanda still continues.
Devastated coconut tree farms near Guiuan, for some the only household income.
